Raksu

Designer: Anniina Isokangas (2012)

The whimsical dog companion Raksu is a character drawn by Anniina in 2012. Raksu was initially created as a stuffed animal and sewing kit, and later evolved into a pattern. The sewing pattern for Raksu the dog can be found in the PaaPii’s Pattern Book for Babies.

Should you ask Raksu, there’s nothing more awesome than running, absolutely nothing. Running fast, running super fast, running in the rain (oh joy - the puddles), running in the sunshine, running in the sand, running through the forest, running along a road, running indoors, running outdoors, running underneath the sofa, running everywhere! Raksu is not as fast as a cheetah but then again a cheetah cannot run underneath the sofa or hide in the rock burrows. Being a bit better than a cheetah at something is quite nice. Do you think a cheetah dreams about running? Raksu does. At nights Raksu whimpers a bit while sleeping. It must be running somewhere extraordinaire, somewhere you can’t run while being awake: perhaps along the seabed or on the rings of Saturn. If you hold Raksu really tight you can maybe join him on his dream adventures.
