Pine grove – thoughts between the lines
The inspiration for the Pine Grove print comes from Japanese sashiko, a traditional embroidery technique used both for mending and decorating fabrics. In sashiko, patterns are created with running stitches – small, rhythmic lines that come together to form a striking whole. In Pine Grove, the idea of sashiko has taken on a new form as a printed pattern. Broken lines trace across the fabric in a light and airy rhythm, creating a harmonious whole that looks slightly different up close and from a distance.
Or could they be lines of thought after all? Perhaps it is in the spaces between them that thoughts wander, ideas take shape and new insights emerge.
